Windows 10 Simplified Version Leaked; Skype 7.16 Version, Older Disabled

The Windows 10 developers may be keeping an unannounced version of the Windows 10 within its latest test builds. Recent reports claim that a simplified version of the OS called Windows 10 Cloud has been discovered in the Windows Insider test builds. Windows is also believed to discontinue the older versions of Skype beginning next month.

In the meantime, the Windows 10 OS has reportedly been running on roughly 300 million devices since launch. Note however that Microsoft launched the Windows 10 OS with the goal of getting 1 billion devices to run the service. In addition, latest reports claim that a new version of Windows 10 has been discovered.

Apparently, Windows 10 Cloud may only run Universal Windows Platform apps downloaded from the Windows Store. Hence, Windows 10 Cloud users may not be able to install apps downloaded from elsewhere. Furthermore, the Italian blog WindowsBlogItalia reportedly released screenshots of the Windows 10 Cloud.

It is said that the Windows 10 Cloud has similarities with the regular version of Windows 10. However, the simplified version may not yet be ready for prime time as the OS is yet to run essential apps like Notepad, Paint and VLC player, Mashable reported.  Furthermore, it is believed that the Windows 10 Cloud may not offer the full Windows 10 experience.

In other news, Microsoft is reportedly disabling older versions of Skype from 7.16 and below on Windows desktops including Windows 10 and 7.0 to 7.18 versions on Mac. Apparently, users may no longer login on Skype using the older versions beginning March 01, 2017. Microsoft reportedly rolled out an update with group video messaging, video message, and cloud file sharing.

Windows 10 PCs also reportedly come pre-installed with the Skype Preview app. Windows 10 users may enjoy integration with Windows Action Center to get quick notifications of missed Skype calls. The update was reportedly rolled out with the Windows 10 Anniversary update, Indian Express reported.
