"Vikings" Season 5 will feature how the brothers will be at odds with each other after Ivar killed Sigurd. According to reports, this will bring rift against the sons of Ragnar. However, beyond the grief brought by the death of Sigurd, the rift between brothers reportedly started way back Ragnar's journeys.
It should be noted that following Ragnar's death, the "Vikings" legendary warrior will reportedly remain an important character in "Vikings" Season 5. Reports have hinted that the sons are against each other due to the fact that everyone is after the position of Ragnar's rightful successor.
The "Vikings" Season 5, on the other hand, sees the debut of Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Bishop Heahsmund, a vicious warrior. As a real person based on history, Heahsmund is the next big villain, who will be an important adversary to Ivar and his brothers, Bustle reported.
"Vikings" Season 5, meanwhile, has a new character in the person of Jonathan Rhys Meyers, whose participation was announced prior to the finale of Season 4. Aside from that, the actor is also confirmed to be a series regular for the whole Season 5.
Although not much has been seen yet from Heahsmund, the "Vikings" next season is expected to change the entire course of the series. Reports suggest that Heahsmund is a man with a strong sense of faith and duty, who is also set to prove that he is a formidable opponent to the other characters, Carter Matt reported.
