Box Office Top 3: The Largest and Top Grossing Movie This Weekend

2017 had just started and the movies being shown in the first month are already watch-worthy. Theaters have been jam-packed with audiences for the past days. Even though there is a diverse genre of movies being shown, there are still some noticeable and recommendable films on the list. Now let's take a look at who made it to top 3 this weekend.

As reported by Box Office Mojo, Split, xXx: The Return of Xander Cage and Hidden Figures made it to the list. All of the 3 has an estimated gross of $76 Million last January 20 to 22 alone. For sure the audiences loved watching the film. Let's take a look at their synopsis:

Split, a movie by M. Night Shyamalan, takes the first spot on the list. According to its official website, Split Movie,  is an original thriller that showcases a mysterious recess of one man's fractured, gifted mind. Audiences get drawn to the mystery as well as the way the protagonist thinks. No wonder the movie got Top 1.

The second placer, xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, is a film by D.J Caruso. Forbes stated that it is the "third installment in what was supposed to be Vin Diesel's big post-The Fast and the Furious franchise." The movie is full of stunts, adventure and a fighting scene in which the audiences enjoyed. An action packed film is indeed worth watching as you will never get bored seeing it.

Hidden Figures got the third place last weekend. It is a film directed by Theodore Melfi. The movie is inspired by a book about 3 brilliant African-American women who serves as the brains behind the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit. "The visionary trio crossed all gender and race lines to inspire generations to dream big" as stated by Fox Movies. The fans indeed marveled on how the three women approached something intelligently.
