Met Opera: Where Emerging Stars Captures The Heart Of It's Audiences Through Art And Classic Performance
Metropolitan Opera, where classical performance is more than meets the eye. A place where variety of artists has the freedom to express themselves as well as capture their audiences' heart and attention. It is indeed a vibrant home for the most creative and talented singers, conductors, composers, musicians, stage directors, designers, visual artists, choreographers, and dancers from around the world.
It's been under the direction of a musical director, James Levine since 1976. A highly credited person having the title of creating one of opera's finest group.Unfortunately, he retired last year on directing the said orchestra. The reason was his current season's health.
Although the legendary musical director retired already, the Metropolitan Opera still keeps on performing great. Their performance never fails to capture the heart of its audiences.
Unfortunately as of today, due to digital art taking effect, orchestras and operas are not having high ticket sales unlike before. Due to this reason, one of their show was cancelled according to Observer's post.
As reported by ArtsJournal, the Met is in the middle of "a golden age of vocalism." It is a state where a certain performers or a group remain somewhat obscure. Metropolitan Opera still remains as the strongest casting of opera in the world. This is also the reason why the sheer power of emerging stars at the Metropolitan Opera aren't attracting audiences in the droves.
Good thing is that, they are planning to level up their performance by adding even more tenured stars on their sets. An example of this is Met's revival of their old Puccini's La Bohème being played by Ailyn Perez. Another example is Michael Fabiano's exciting role as poet Rodolfo. There are just some of the artists that will be involved in their next performance. Metropolitan Opera is indeed full of classic and top notch performance.
