The Ghostlight Project: A Unified Theatrical Protest In Response For The Upcoming Administration
Standing up alone for something great is one of the numerous ways to let your voice be heard. Being unified with others having the same voice is different, yet more powerful. This time, a group of individuals are having a theatrical protest for the upcoming administration. Their goal is to vocie out and strengthen social justice and equity. An important aspect in which we, citizens, needed to survive the society we are living in. The movement's goal is to increase more supporters for this advocacy as well.
So what is the Ghostlight Project? According to Howlround, it is a gathering of different community outside theaters on the eve of the Presidential Inauguration. They will pledge to stand and protect the "protect the values of inclusion, participation, and compassion for everyone, regardless of race, class, religion, country of origin, immigration status, (dis)ability, gender identity, or sexual orientation." The desired result is to have a strengthend social justice for everyone and an avenue of hope for others who are experiencing the bad side of society.
Apart from letting your voice be heard, this is also a proper avenue to listen to other's cry and encourage one another. A good time to discuss and share knowledge in regards to social justice and collaborate for the greater good as well. Also, discussions and arguments will surely be discussed during this protest. Active listening and collective action is a great skill to bring here.
The Ghostlight Project will commence this coming January 19, 2017 at 5:30pm as stated at their website. Everyone is invited to join and partake of the event. Together, these people will create "light" for challening times ahead. This might be just the start of something big. A change that will definitely benefit all people across the country. Change might not happen overnight, but having movements like these ensures that there is a bright future ahead.
