Theater Workshop For Nurturing Young Talent: Centenary Stage Opens Registration

The best way to develop novice young talent into a professional is by imparting knowledge, training and hands-on experience. Centenary Stage Company has always been in the forefront of Theater training. Nurturing young aspirant and honing their skill has been their niche.

According to New Jersey Herald, the spring session of the Centenary stage Company's Tyro workshop is on offer. Young aspirants between 8-10 years of age are eligible for the admissions. Special emphasis is given on the theatrical elements such as expression, confidence building and humor.

Tyro workshop eventually helps the young minds to be spontaneous. Fairy tales and folklores are an extensively part of this workshop. Tuition fee for availing this program is $150 per student and the last date of application is February 1st.

The Tyro program is headed by Maria Brodeur, Director of CSC education. She has a Bachelors Degree in theatre and education from Rutgers University and is a designated name in the field of acting and arts education in children's theatre.

Along with Tyro, another program called the Young Performers Workshop program constitutes the educational wing of the Centenary Stage Company, a professionally run theatre residence at Centenary University under the guidance of the Director of Arts Carl Wallnau.

According to Broadway World the Centenary Stage Company boasts of a career of over 20 years of theatre and musical training. The 2016-17 spring session of acting workshop will be led by Micheal Blevins, a veteran of theatre, TV and film and will run from February 11 to June 4.

The participants need not have any prior experience of acting but an interview session with Blevins is mandatory. While the career minded individuals can benefit from this experience, the casual lot not looking for a career in acting can also gain a handful of valuable tips regarding the development of communication skills, self-righteousness and discipline.

Organizations like the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, the Shubert Foundation, the Blanche and Irving Laurie Foundation, the Sandra Kupperman Foundation, and CSC corporate sponsors, including Premier Season Sponsor Heath Village Retirement Community, Silver Sponsors Hackettstown Medical Center, Home Instead Senior Care (Washington), the Holiday Inn of Budd Lake, and Fulton Bank of New Jersey, along with the members and supporters of the Centenary Stage Company are to be given credit for the 2016-17 season of the performing arts event.

Real stage experience and intensive training by the industry experts is expected to guide the young talent in the right direction and the Centenary Stage Company's Tyro workshop seems like the perfect opportunity.
