Student Turns Oxford University Rejection Letter Into A Stunning Design

Rejection brings despair and anguish, especially when the disapproval comes from the prestigious Oxford university. However Claudia Vulliamy from London literally got over her rejection in style.

According to BBC, 18 year old Claudia Vulliamy applied to study classics at Wadham University only to find her application rejected. She took the whole thing in her stride and went on to turn that same rejection letter into an abstract piece of art.

Claudia posted her fresh design on instagram and overnight she became an internet sensation. since then her post is retweeted 48,000 times and liked a whooping 153,000 times on social platform twitter. Though it was in-a-moment kind of art, Some people believe it reminds of creations by the great Pier Mondrian. No mean feat for a student who was supposed to be down and out after her rejection.

In Claudia's mother Louisa Saunders' words, "I thought it was very funny and very spirited, and obviously I was glad she wasn't feeling to sad about it." Louisa was out at work when she received a call from Claudia informing the rejection. Louisa is happy that Claudia was not down with a broken heart, which she thinks happens to most who get rejected by the prestigious university.

"I just thought it was a bit of a bummer not to get in," Claudia was quoted in the ITV News, adding "I felt like making it into something." She has not been very proficient in social media and the enormous response took her by surprise. Claudia cleared that the painting was not meant for any message, it was just an unplanned response to relieve herself of the dejection.

Ultimately Claudia has got herself admitted at The Durham University to study her long desired subject - Classics. Both she and her mother are very happy with her decision. Claudia is currently in her final year at the North London Camden School for girls and has a number of A-level figurative paintings posted on Instagram.

Not everyone has the heart to stand up to rejection. Claudia's artwork should motivate other students from giving up and bringing in the hope of unexpected possibilities.
