'Travelers' Season 2 Is Coming To Netflix To Continue The Mission
Netflix officially announces the renewal of its Science-Fiction TV Series "Travelers." Netflix and Canada's Showcase original sci-fi series premiered globally via Netflix in December, and now Travelers has been renewed for a second season.
According to Deadline, Travelers has been renewed for a second season. Season 2 is expected to begin production in March with a debut on Canada's Showcase in the fall. Following that, the season will premiere globally everywhere (except Canada) on Netflix.
Travelers creator and writer Brian Wright is on board for Season 2, as well as series lead Eric McCormack. The rest of the main cast, Jared Abrahamson, Nesta Cooper, Reilly Dolman, Patrick Gilmore and MacKenzie Porter are all set to return as well. The Canadian-made drama was the highest-rated new fall series across Canadian Specialty, so a season renewal shouldn't come as much of a surprise.
Travelers follows a group of special agents (called Travelers) that come from a time hundreds of years in the future. Coming from a future in which society has collapsed, they use advanced technology to send their consciousness' back in time to inhabit the body of a seemingly random person from the 21st century says Den Of Geek.
They then undertake missions in order to hopefully change their future for the better, all while trying to keep their identities secret from the loved ones of the bodies they've inhabited. Eric McCormack stars as the leader of his team, who has inhabited the body of an FBI agent.
For those worried that Eric McCormack's involvement with Travelers will conflict with his return as Will for the new installment of Will and Grace, don't be! Travelers will accommodate McCormack's schedule and he'll be able to do both shows.
NBC recently announced a new 10 episode installment of the hit series Will and Grace, after the cast reunited for an election-themed segment that debuted online to millions of YouTube views. The basic premise of Travelers is admittingly a little confusing, so here's the trailer for the series to help clear things up.
