As for "Friday the 13th" shooting schedule, they are definitely very behind. There's no actor has been cast yet especially someone to play Jason Vorhees, the announcement of its cancellation will make sense because of this dilemma. This cancellation came to us in a surprise, Paramount Pictures backing off "Friday the 13th" reboot.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, one factor for the cancellation of "Friday the 13th" reboot was it's poor performance. The franchise reboot was estimated to cost $25 million then stretched off to $13 million but still, they decided to call it off. Yet "Friday the 13th" has been the spotlight for horror movies in 1980 but that time Jason Vorhees was not the main villain until 1981's sequel where he stole the spotlight of being the main antagonist.
"Friday the 13th" Jason Vorhees has also collaborated Freddy Kruger in 2003's "Freddy vs. Jason," a horror movie that gained a hit with mixed reviews also with 2001's "Jason X." As for the cancellation of the reboot, that makes the 2009 remake will mark as the last cinematic story for Jason Vorhees.
