Lady Gaga performance at Super Bowl LI Halftime Show 'could reach a lot of people'
Lady Gaga is known for pulling off incredible, yet out-of-this-world performances in the course of her music career. This is why many people were thrilled following the announcement of the iconic pop singer setting the Super Bowl LI Halftime Show stage ablaze on Feb. 5. A week before the monumental NFL event, the pop singer gave a few hints on what to expect from her much-awaited Super Bowl performance.
The "Poker Face" hitmaker briefly described her halftime show set list in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. Lady Gaga did not spill too many details, but she said that the general NFL audience is going to like the performance.
"Maybe the dads will really love the music... I think that these songs could reach a lot of people," Lady Gaga told EW. The fact that the NFL picked her to be the next performer at the Super Bowl Halftime Show this year means that the company trusts her music to suit the taste of the football game patrons.
"The NFL heard the record before it came out. They gave me that slot, really, off my album," the "Bad Romance" singer added. Speaking of her album, the fans have also been wondering if Lady Gaga will be performing the songs out of her latest album "Joanne." Noting that the halftime show set list only includes five songs, there is no guarantee that all of her hits will be performed during the event. The set could add some tracks from her new album like "Perfect Illusion," but it could also feature songs that have already gone classic over the years, like "Telephone" and "Just Dance."
The EW report also teased about a breath-taking stunt from Lady Gaga herself. The pop icon is rumored to perform right at the roof Houston's NRG Stadium, possibly doing a surprising stunt for the audience.
As the world is getting ready for Lady Gaga at the Super Bowl LI, a petition to replace the singer at the halftime show is calling the netizens' attention. The online petition made on Change.org calls for the "Mother Monster" to be replaced by Georgia's rising hip-hop group, Migos. The petitioner doesn't seem to have a problem against Lady Gaga per se, but he argued that Migos' hip-hop sense perfectly matches the people of Houston, according to Vulture.
