Womenswear, a type of clothing dedicated to women, is one of Kith's main focus for this upcoming year. Kith is a clothing and sneaker boutique owned by Ronnie Fieg. Aside from apparel, they also have a dessert bar which mainly serves cereal and ice cream. Kith has been known for its multiple collaboration with known brands as well as big fashion icons.
Kith had debuted its womenswear line last Dec. 2015 on one of their retail stores located in New York City. Ronnie Fieg had seen a trend that most of the smallest sizes in their menswear are the first one to be sold out. A lot of those who ordered the smallest sizes are women as well. With this in mind, Ronnie Fieg decided to open a shop dedicated to women, thus the Kith Womenswear were born as reported by Fashionista.
As the year progresses, the demand on Kith's womenswear line had been outstanding. Even local celebrities are seen to be rocking a piece of it. Just recently, Ronnie Fieg had invited Emily Oberg, to be the creative lead for Kith's womenswear clothing line. According to US Fashion Network, Emily Oberg has a sizable social following of over 211,000 on Instagram alone and had spent three years working as a video content producer at Complex Magazine. Her famous video series were titled "Get Sweaty" in which she interviews famous stars while exercising. Aside from her former job at Complex Magazine, Emily also has her own womenswear clothing line named "Sporty and Rich".
When Ronnie Fieg was asked why he chose Emily Oberg for Kith's creative lead for womenswear, he simply stated in an interview with Business of Fashion that "I feel like the women's side needs a voice and direction from somebody who will be wearing the product. We think that Emily represents the youth". Her works will inspire other womenswear clothing line to step up their game.
