Grammy Award News & Update: 7-Time Grammy Award Jazz-Pop Musician Al Jarreau Dies At 76

The outstanding musician who won seven times Grammy Award in pop, jazz and R&B categories, Al Jarreau has died at the age of 76 in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, the star was in a hospital being treated for exhaustion but his sudden death has no clear evidence.

Al Jarreau was been known for his song "Moonlighting" and used as the theme song of Glenn Gordon Caron film "Moonlighting" an American comedy series. His first album "We Got By" has come out in 1975 and won a German Grammy.

The jazz-pop musician won his first Grammy for best jazz singer on his album "Look to the Rainbow" and his "Glow" album that won German Grammy award, claimed by BBC News. On 1978, Al Jarreau "All Fly Home" have earned Grammy award for best Jazz vocal album.

On CNN report, Al Jarreau Twitter account and Facebook page posted that the star died on Sunday at 9 a.m were his wife, son, and few friends surrounding him. The star announced his retirement from touring after he was admitted to the hospital for exhaustion in Los Angeles.

Al Jarreau started singing at his young age and was joining his family in church events and contest. He was also a psychology graduate who worked at the rehabilitation center in San Francisco and he's given the nickname "Acrobat of Scat" for his way of vocal stylings.

On July 23, 2010, Al Jarreau was reportedly taken at the hospital in France because of he's been critically ill from respiratory problems and cardiac arrhythmias. However, his songs became part in the film like "Night Shift" who used the song "Girls Know How," "Boogie Down" on the film "Breakin" and "The Music of Goodbye" in "Out of Africa."

Alwin Lopez Jarreau was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, US and the fifth of six children. He's father was a singer and a church minister while his mother is a church pianist.
