UK Puts Temporary Export Bar on Parmigianino’s $25 Million Painting

The Italian artists Parmigianino's painting could be out from the borders if someone can afford his painting worth $25 million. The UK government has placed a temporary export bar on Parmigianino's 16^th Century piece to have permitted to be bought by a UK-based buyer.

The painting "The Virgin and Child with Saint Mary Magdalen and the Infant Saint John the Baptist" was known to be enchantingly beautiful, as describe by experts from Italy24. Experts from the UK are trying to keep the painting inside their territory.

Parmigianino's painting has been in the UK for more than 250 years and it was one of his first works to be sold to a British collector. UK Government's decision to extend the export license after a recommendation was given by the Reviewing Committee on the Export of works of Art and Objects of cultural interest, also known as RCEWA. The RCEWA's committee has made its approval on the grounds of Parmigianino's painting in terms of its artistic importance and extravagant implication to the study of Parmigianino's work.

A member of RCEWA Aidan Weston-Lewis once claimed that he can't figure out any Old Italian master painting that has left in any private collection in the UK that's more beautiful than Parmigianino's. He added that it would bring a major loss if it will be exported overseas.

Parmigianino's work is a rare fit example of a religious frame painting from the last days of his career. The artist died in 1540 was one of the pioneers of mannerism which is a style of European art that developed in the recent years of the Italian High Renaissance.

According to a Culture Minister Matt Hancock from the reports of The Guardian, he demanded a temporary bar on Parmigianino's painting until June 9 which can be extended up until Dec.9, 2017 if there's a serious UK buyer interested.
