MacArthur’s Alison Bechdel ‘Fun Home’ and Anton Chekhov’s ‘Three Sisters’ will Arrive Soon in Theaters
Based on a tale of the late memories by MacArthur winner Alison Bechdel will raise a new tenant on Pennsylvania Avenue, the "Fun Home." 2015's Tony Award Jeanine Tesori and Lisa Kron includes Best in Musical will put a show in Washington at the National Theatre.
MacArthur's Alison Bechdel is a comical and alarming scenario of growing up a gay in a family that manages a funeral home as their family business, as reported by Rolling Stone. He kept secrets to his family regarding with his identity, especially to his father. The character Alison will be played by three actresses according to his age.
The show will be equipped with promising ventures that will run from April 18 up to May 13. "Fun Home" was directed by New York's Sam Gold, Alison will be played by Kate Shindle, Rober Petkoff will portray as her father Bruce, and Susan Moniz will play as her mother, Helen.
National Theatre was rarely used in playing theatrical shows lately the last time it held a show was four years ago; the pre- Broadway tryout of Brian Yorkey and Tom Kitt's "If Then" starring Idina Menzel. But the upcoming "Fun Home" will bring back the crowd to the National Theater in terms of style and content; it will capture every man's piece of musical theater into an imaginative perspective.
Meanwhile, the Studio Theatre will bring more exciting plot which is the arrival of Anton Chekhov's "Three Sisters" and Aaron Posner's world-premiere "No Sister." Both are packed with meta-theatrically Stoppard Ian fashion that will bring classic in each show. "Three Sisters" will be directed by Jackson Gay while "No Sister" will be managed and directed by Aaron Poser himself.
Chekhov's "Three Sisters" will perform in the ground-floor Mead Theatre, according to The Washington Post, while Posner's "No Sister" will perform a floor above in Milton Theatre; this will happen on March 16, 2017.
