Johnny Depp Sued His Business Managers For His Mismanaged Earnings; Countersuit Filed Against Him
Johnny Depp sues his former business management group for the mismanagement of his earnings. This action backfired him as the group filed a countersuit on him. They even stated that the "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor ignored their advice despite being reminded a multiple times.
Aside from the several warnings of the management group, they also claimed that Johnny Depp indeed has a lavish lifestyle. The amount of money he spends per month accumulates to $US2.6 Million alone. For them, this was the main cause for his financial troubles and not their way of managing his finances. They even stated that his taxes were always paid in time.
According to a report by ABC News, his lifestyle includes paying multiple liabilities. This includes purchasing 14 homes which costs an estimate of $US75 million. He even brought a French chateau and a multiple islands in the Bahamas. He also owns private jets, 150-foot yacht and even collections of fine art and Hollywood memorabilia. His collection is so huge and massive that it took 12 storage facilities just to maintain all of it according to the lawsuit filed against him. This was just some of the things he spends his money, other liabilities includes clothing and several hobbies as well.
The company handled Johnny Depp's earning from 1999 until early 2016. Within this time period, the actor is very famous for his blockbuster movies like "Pirates of the Caribbean", "Alice in Wonderland", "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", and so much more. This was indeed the prime of Johnny Depp's acting career.
Aside from Johnny Depp, there are some blockbuster stars that sued their former managers to court alleging mismanagement as reported by USA Today. An example of this is Nicolas Cage. The same thing happened as well, an actor filed a lawsuit to former colleagues and then the business managers countered it.
