iOS 10.2 Jailbreak Won't Work on iPhone 7, Apple Users Report
The iOS 10.2 hacker Luda Todesco recently released a public jailbreak beta for the iOS 10.2 OS. However, the jailbreak tool reportedly does not work on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus handsets. Furthermore, the beta is said to pack some bugs at the moment and is also compatible with 64-bit devices as of date.
It has been revealed that the iOS 10.2 beta may not support 32-bit devices and the newer iPhone models. On that note, only the 64-bit support for the iPhone SE, iPad Pro, iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus may benefit from the iOS 10.2 jailbreak beta tool. Moreover, Todesco is reportedly planning to add support for more 64-bit devices in a future update,Value Walk reported.
However, Toledo reportedly debunks iOS 10.2 support for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. It should be noted that the Mach Portal + Yalu jailbreak tool for the iOS 10.1.1 is reportedly available to download for the latest iPhone models. In addition, Luca reportedly added support for the Cydia and Cydia Substrate for users to get tweaks installed with minimal hassle.
Note that an iOS 10.2 downgrade is also possible for those who have already upgraded to the iOS 10.2.1. Note that iOS 10.2 users have noted saving the SHSH2 blobs as important. In the meantime, the source code for the iOS 10.2 jailbreak may be downloaded from GitHub.
In other news, the iOS 10.2 developers previously claimed that the new OS update contained an essential security fix. On the other hand, the developers may not have fixed the infamous 30% bug with the update. Apparently, iOS 10.2.1 users have noted broken fingerprint readers post-OS installation, Forbes reported.
The iOS 10.2, on the other hand has been noted to fix the problem. Apparently, iPhone 6 as iPhone 6 Plus users have noted that neither removing and re-adding the fingerprints nor factory resetting the devices works. Apple is yet to fix the broken Touch ID with the OS update. Watch more about the iOS 10.2 jailbreak here:
