Pope Francis, one of the heads of a majority religion-Roman Catholic, gave his opinion recently on issues concerning Europe. The Pope warned the public amidst the rise of populism in Europe through an exclusive interview with a Spanish newspaper.

According to The Telegraph, Pope Francis mentioned that there is a danger as the idea of populism rises around the world. The danger of the majority who are seeking for a savior or a fast solution and changes of different dilemmas around the globe may result into dictators like Hitler. The Pope stated this opinion in an exclusive interview to a Spanish newspaper named El Pais. It was held in Vatican on a Friday which is also the inauguration day of Donald Trump as the new president of the United States of America.

Reporters have also asked Pope Francis if he was really worried by the rise of populism in Europe and in U.S. "Crises provoke fear, alarm. In my opinion, the most obvious example of European populism is Germany in 1933." the pope answered.

He even recalled that Germany in the past was broken and even lost for its own identity. It was during this year of Germany when Adolf Hitler had risen up to be a leader. He had a promising character who might restore Germany that time. Pope Francis also mentioned that Hitler did not cheat in any form during the election but he won the hearts of the people. "..and then he destroyed his own people. This is the danger." Pope Francis emphasized

Meanwhile, according to Aljazeera, the populist parties in Europe are really rising up at present. On the other hand, the problems of unemployment and austerity, the arrival of refugees and migrants in France, Belgium, and Germany still exist. These problems are continuously pushing the citizens of Europe to have the Islamophobic point of view and even an anti-refugee views.

On the other hand, European women are frightened by the possibilities of such danger of populism. Check our site for more updates on global issues. Stay updated!
