Emmerdale Producers Hint Ashley Dementia Will Conclude Positively: Joanie's Prison Release Will Shock Lisa [Spoilers]

Emmerdale, the popular British Television series has a few surprises in store for its viewers. Created by Kevin Laffan and produced by ITV Yorkshire, the popular show has been running since 1972 and was known as "Emmerdale Firm" until 1989.

According to The Sun, producer Iain McLeod revealed that the viewers of the fictional series are in for a few twists in the story that will "warm the cockles" in the near future. Ashley, played by John Middleton will see a rather "joyful" ending to his character's two years long battle against dementia. This disease has caused Ashley to forget his wife Laurel, a character played by actress Charlotte Bellamy. As per the producer, the new turn of events are going to melt many hearts in the coming episodes.

In fact, in a special episode that was aired before the Christmas, through the eyes of Ashley a dementia patient's world was seen. It was highly praised by the fans and the actors were commended for the unique but realistic approach. John, the 63 year old actor who had joined the famous series in 1996, said in an interview about playing someone suffering from dementia, "Every aspect of this story is true and has come directly from someone we've spoken to who has experienced it."

According to the Metro, in another turn of events, the character of Joanie Wright is going to be heading back to Emmerdale after being released from the prison where she served for assaulting a police officer. The character will be heading home with another character Lisa where Kerry Wyatt is preparing to welcome her. On the way, a conversation between the two will reveal the fact that Lisa is back with Zak, who is her ex and this completely takes Joanie Wright by surprise and to some extent grief as well. Though during their conversation, Lisa expresses her doubt about the fact that she is unsure of having a future with Zak after what she has been through in the last few years.

On their way home, Joanie has some unrevealed shock in store for Lisa. On the other hand, Cain is looking to "build bridges" with his Kyle. Whether this move will change Kyle's future or not holds an element of surprise.

The fans of Emmerdale have always been treated with new twists and turns throughout the episodes. The upcoming surprises are surely going to leave them asking for more.
