'The Vampire Diaries' Season 8: Sybil Taunts Damon, Dobrev's Comeback Uncertain

Fans are curious about whether Nina Dobrev's possible return on the finale episode of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8, However, even without that, it looks like things are definitely getting complicated in Mystic Falls as the Salvatore brothers have completely vowed their loyalty to serve the new antagonist Cade.

In the last episodes, we saw Stefan Salvatore, played by Paul Wesley, accepting Cade's offer to help him in order to save the Gemini Twins. Stefan has turned into a ruthless ripper again and is Meanwhile, Caroline Forbes, played by Candice Accola, served as the twins' surrogate mother.

With this proceeding, we have the final season with the title "We Have History Together." The season opened with Stefan and Damon joining an anger management support group. According to Entertainment Weekly, the support group "will turn out to be a venue for carnage as the brothers killed everyone. Damon did not slow down on his intentions and already revealed his reason for joining the group." Moreover, it now looks like Sybil (Nathalie Kelley) will return and continue to raise chaos in Damon's (Ian Somerhalder) mind.

A photo obtained by TV Line shows Sybil walking down the staircase in a blue gown. Looks like she is all set to taunt Damon with memories of Elena. Meanwhile, Caroline will be pushed to follow Sybil's order. But, Caroline's real motive will be unveiled only on the next episode "The Simple Intimacy of the Near Touch," on January 20. However, the team is still tight-lipped about Dobrev's highly anticipated comeback to the series. Another leaked photo reveal that Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Enzo (Michael Malarkey) will share some sweet moments. Moreover, fans are hoping that the long-time tradition of featuring a pageant in the show will have Elena and Damon dancing with each other.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 episode 9 airs Friday, Jan. 20 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
