John Lewis Books Sell Out On Amazon Day After Trump's Tweets
Two of Rep. John Lewis books are sold out on Amazon after the Democratic congressman topped on the retailer's best-seller list. Lewis' graphic novel trilogy, March is about the civil rights movement. It ranked no. 1 on Amazon with its individual volumes that are also bestsellers. On its third installment, the book won the National Book Award in 2016.
Also, according to Washington Post, the Walking with the Wind: A Memoir of the Movement was Amazon's no. 3 bestseller and was sold out. The two books are also listed on Amazon as "temporarily out of stock". Through the years, the five books of John Lewis had been one of the top 20 bestseller on Amazon, where March trilogy has several versions. The sales on the civil rights leader's books have soared following his feud with the President-elect Donald Trump over the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend.
According to a CBS News, last week, Lewis has reminded the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. to the students at a scholarship breakfast event in Miami "Maybe one of you will be a mayor, a city councilperson, a great teacher, a member of the House, a member of the Senate, governor of this state, maybe president of the United States of America," he said. "Dream dreams and never, ever give up on your dreams."
Lewis has also said that he didn't see Trump as a legitimate president and wouldn't be attending the inauguration for the first time in 30 years. Trump hit back on his Twitter again saying that the 16th term Georgia Democrat Representative, should spend more time on fixing his districts, and are "All talk, talk talk - no action or results."
John Lewis' March is available on paperback for $29.99 and Walking with the Wind: A Memoir of the Movement also on paperback for $11.54 - the two books could be bought on Amazon. Keep updated with the latest news.
