Music is a framework of people's emotions. From joy to sorrow or excitement to anxiety, it touches upon every situation possible. Music also has the power to transport its listener to the future and the past. For her next song, Sia thematically time-travels back to the 80's and the nostalgia she evokes is worth it.

According to MTV, Sia's new single "Move Your Body" has grabbed more than enough eyeballs. It is the fourth single from her seventh album "This is Acting" released in 2016. The Grammy Award nominee singer and songwriter from Australia has already delivered worldwide hits like "cheap thrills" and "chandelier". Like the previous hits this new song also carries her signature all across the lively and peppy composition.

The recently released music video of the song is already the talk of the town. The main character portrayed by 8 year old Lilliana Ketchman tries Sia's famous black-and-blonde wig and she just can't stop dancing. Eveywhere she goes turns into a dance floor. She continues photobombing strangers until her parents drag her away. Ultimately she makes a surprise return and finally the strangers welcome the weird girl.

The video is full of glamour shots that were once part and parcel of the 80's era. The awkward dance moves, loud makeup and outlandish wig makes the video funny and enjoyable.

In an interview given to Rolling Stone, Sia revealed that the song was originally offered to Shakira who rejected it. In fact, "This is Acting" is an album made of songs that were initially rejected by the likes of Rihanna, Adele and Beyonce. Some of them must be ruining the fact that the song jumped to No.6 on the Billboard chart for Dance song numbers.

The music video has more of a retro themed outlook and is very energetic and peppy. With a small girl in the forefront there is also an additional dosage of innocence. Although there is a mixed reaction among the general public and critics regarding her songs, there is no doubt that Sia has already carved a niche among her loyal fan base.
