Oscars 2017 Winners Complete List: ‘Moonlight’ Wins Best Picture After ‘La La Land’ Erroneously Announced
Sunday's 89th Academy Awards show was great, announcing all the winners and had their speeches. Here is the complete list of winners for the Oscars 2017 and the most talked about the mistaken announcement of the Best Picture award.
"La La Land" got the Best Picture award just for a minute. And the celebration on stage has ended after one of the "La La Land" winners corrected the wrong announcement and cleared out that it is not a joke that "Moonlight" had won the Best Picture award.
It was erroneously announced by Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway. Wherein, Beatty later said that he had opened the wrong card which read "Emma Stone, "La La Land" and then added that he was not trying to be funny, ABC News reported.
Even with the wrong announcement, "La La Land" still took home most of the awards in the ceremony with six out of fourteen nominations. Wherein, Emma Stone won the Best Lead Actress and its 32-year-old director, Damien Chazelle won the Best Director who is the youngest of all the directors who won the award, says CNN. The film won the Best Production, Best Cinematography, Best Original score and its "City of Stars" won the Best Original song.
Aside from the Best Picture award, "Moonlight" also took home the Best adapted screenplay and the Best actor in a supporting role by Mahershala Ali. The Best sound mixing and Best film editing won by the "Hacksaw Ridge". The Best makeup and hairstyling was taking home by "Suicide Squad" and the Best costume design was won by "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them".

The Best foreign language film was won by "The Salesman", the "Sing" took home the Best live action short film and the Best documentary short subject was won by "The White Helmets".
Viola Davis' outstanding performance from "Fences" lead her to win the Best actress in a supporting role. "The Jungle Book" won the Best visual effects and the Best original screenplay was awarded to "Manchester by the Sea".
