Android 8.0 Oreo Name Isn't Confirmed, VR, AI Hinted; Nokia 3310 Is Non-Android Not Replacing iPhone 7, Samsung Galaxy Devices
Android 7.0 Nougat successor is making headlines as the code Android 8.0 O has surfaced online. Along with the name, its features have not been confirmed yet pushing a lot of Android enthusiasts to come up with a lot of expectations about the upcoming Google operating system.
Google is yet to release its official statement about the upcoming operating system. However, Android senior vice president has already given hints on what the next name could be. In one of the executive's recent tweet, an Oreo cake was well represented through a GIF file. The image almost automatically led fans to conclude that the Android 8.0 O code will take the name of the popular biscuit brand.
While fans reportedly expressed positive feedback about the name hint, Phone Arena warned the public that the tweet does not really reveal anything. In fact, the news site cited that Lockheimer has been known for leaking a number of names for the previous operating systems, but none of its came true.
Android 8.0 O features are still unknown, as well. However, theories have surfaced from experts noting that the upcoming operating system will feature VR features. Since 2017 will be about VR headsets, the technology is more likely to come to smartphones also, most probably in the Android 8.0 O, International Business Times reported.
Experts are also expecting Google assistant in Android 8.0 O. While Apple is putting so much effort in enhancing Siri, Google AI assistant will most likely be pushed forward in smartphones. While this feature is said to be the most obvious, fans still want to know how the assistant is to be setup in the newest OS.
Meanwhile, Nokia 3310 comeback will neither have an Android operating system, app store, 4g, Wi-Fi, nor Facebook. With the confirmations, the rebirth of the popular phone will contribute an odd addition to the line-up of devices that carry 6GB RAM, Snapdragon 835 CPUs, and quad-HD display.
Nokia 3310 will definitely not replace Samsung Galaxy S7 or iPhone but may be the phone of choice for emergencies and small children. More than any other fancy feature, it will have a phonebook, text messaging service, and a 2.4-inch display. Watch Android Oreo 8.0 Boot Animation Concept video here:
