'Hamilton' Just Doubled Its Front-Row Lottery Tickets
As promised, Broadway production of "Hamilton" has doubled the number of front-row lottery tickets for each performance. Beginning this week, the number of $10 seats available for each performance has doubled to 46. So how to get these tickets? According to Broadway's official website, theater lovers can participate in a digital lottery and the winner will get 60 minutes to purchase their tickets. However, the seats will be assigned based on the committee's decision and it cannot be transferred. There is also a limitation of one entry per person.
A far as the "Hamilton" schedules are concerned, for matinee shows, the lot timings will be between 8 AM to 10 AM while for evening performances it is between 11 AM to 1 PM. On days with only one show, entries can be made between 8 AM and 1 PM. Being the hottest tickets in town, the Richard Rodgers Theatre runs on a jam-packed house and looks like no one can stop it. Entering the lottery is the cheapest way to get a seat to the Broadway smash.
According to Playbill, Mandy Gonzalez, who currently plays Angelica Schuyler, announced the move at "Hamilton: The Next Administration" panel at BroadwayCon 2017. Michael Luwoye, Jordan Fisher, J. Quinton Johnson, Bryan Terrell Clark, Taran Killam, Brandon Victor Dixon, Seth Stewart, Alysha Deslorieux, and Lexi Lawson joined her on stage. In addition, the website also published a press release on the development. The release further added that the Hamilton's Chicago production will launch its own #EduHam program-making $10 tickets available to 20,000 high school students in Chicago each year.
Last year, the hit musical "Foundling Founding Father" topped the ticket sales, grossing $2 million per week at the 1,321-seat theater, beating the records set by many previous shows including "Wicked" and "The Lion King."
Viewers can hope that the "Harry Potter" fans in the United States can enjoy the visual extravaganza soon in Broadway.
